DPDB meeting informs on proposal for Zunheboto-Mokokchung 2-lane road 

Zunheboto, February 26 (MExN): After an audit, the Zunheboto District Golden Jubilee celebration, held from November 11-14, generated a surplus revenue of Rs 36 lakh.

According to the State DIPR, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Zunheboto, provided this information during its monthly meeting on February 23.

He mentioned that the excess amount has been earmarked for purchasing a local ground, which was previously a disputed area.

DC Mali further stated that a proposal for the Zunheboto to Mokokchung 2-lane has been put forward, and the district administration will hold a meeting on March 4 to discuss the matter with all villages along the roadways.

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, he also directed all concerned departments to submit the precise total number of employees for the distribution of work assignments. 

Meanwhile, during the meeting, Sumi Hoho General Secretary Dr Vihuto Asumi requested the DC Zunheboto to make the attendance of all Heads of Departments in the district mandatory at the monthly meetings, emphasising the need for explanation and necessary actions in case of failure without proper reasons.

He also suggested establishing an administrative guest house in Zunheboto District for the convenience of all Heads of Departments residing in other places. 

The issue of high rental charges for a multipurpose hall was discussed and is scheduled for further deliberation in the next DPDB meeting, as per the report.

In his welcome address, DC Mali informed the House that in the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games, Zunheboto District performed exceptionally well with 9 medals. He congratulated the players and coaching staff for their achievements.
