Secheku Women Welfare Society 28th general session held

The 28th general session of Secheku Women Welfare Society (SWWS) under the theme, ‘Post pandemic-forging towards a resilient and sustainable community’ was held at Losami village under Phek district on April 22.

Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) chairperson Kevechutso Doulo graced the inaugural session as special guest. Doulo said that women have the power to change the society. In this, he urged the women folk to play a proactive role for a progressive society.

He lauded Secheku area for venturing into business activities, thereby strengthening the rural economy.

Stating that the state general election is due in 2023, Doulo told women not to be construed by false propagandas.

Earlier, Rekha Rose Dukru, executive member of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) shared greetings and stressed on the need for the people to elect a leader who is responsible, clean and have passion to work for the people.

She also stressed on the need to empower women and also urged the women to be truthful in their approaches.

Earlier, presidential address was delivered by Kozou Lasuh, president SWWS. The programme was chaired by Sarhu Letro while welcome address was delivered by SWWS General Secretary Dezele Thopi. Later, Kezunyipeu Lasuh, Assistant Development Commissioner, Government of Nagaland spoke at the workshop as resource person.
