The indefinite bandh started on February 8 and entered day 6 on February 13.

The suspension was announced in response to responding to an appeal from Lotha Legislators and to facilitate negotiations with the concerned contractor and government authorities, the CSOs stated.

This decision reflects careful consideration of raised concerns and efforts by legislators to address the issues, they added.

In a statement, the CSOs also informed that the decision for suspension was taken keeping in view a direction issued by the Chief Engineer, National Highways, Nagaland on February 8 directing the contractor, TTC Infra India Pvt Ltd, to resume the project work, within ten days (latest by February 17).

Meanwhile, the CSOs also expressed appreciation for support and active participation of all and making the bandh successful. “All are requested to continue to participate, whenever their services are needed,” the statement added.
