‘The Horizon’ at Central Plaza Kohima Inaugurated

The Horizon, a place that promises to give quality time and experience for friends and family, was formally inaugurated by Dr Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Poet, Academic, Educator & Fashion Icon on November 23. Located at Central Plaza in PR Hill, it is the newest addition to the growing list of restaurants in the vibrant city of Kohima.

With a mission to provide world cuisine, Mel, the Proprietor stated during the inaugural that “The Horizon is not just a restaurant, but an experience.” Highlighting that “our beautifully designed dining space, complete with stunning views of Kohima, provides the perfect ambience for any occasion with quality food, service excellence and friendly budget”, she said, “whether you are celebrating a special milestone or simply seeking a night out with friends, we invite you to make the Horizon your destination of choice.”

On embarking on an exciting journey as an entrepreneur, she also expressed gratitude to her team, partners and supporters who, she said “have worked tirelessly to bring the Horizon to life.” “Your dedication, expertise and passion are what makes this restaurant truly special,” she said.

She further acknowledged the designer of the restaurant, Zhohu Heise Vadeo, who is an architect, Hannah Lorin, artist and her brother-in-law, Neipetso Lomi, Management Consultant who, in her words, “has tirelessly organised, managed and solved every problem efficiently.”

Addressing the opening of The Horizon, Dr Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Poet, Academic, Educator & Fashion Icon said that the new enterprise was a wonderful way of celebrating the love, joy and effort of family. Asserting the need to support and encourage more female entrepreneurs, she also remarked that opening the restaurant is not just opening another business but that it paves the way for other women entrepreneurs as well.

Further emphasizing the importance of considering whether Kohima really needs another dining establishment, she also expressed that as a working mother who enjoys taking a break from cooking, she would gladly dine out any day.

Highlights of the programme included welcome note by Neipetso Lomi, blessings by Rev Dr Wepre Mero and ribbon cutting.
