SWD bids farewell to outgoing director

DIMAPUR , Sept 1: Social Welfare Department (SWD) bade farewell to its first female director, K. Atoli Sema on August 31 at the conference hall of capital convention centre, Kohima.

In a press release, the department informed that during the farewell programme, various speakers spoke on the good attributes of the outgoing director and congratulated her on completion of a successful career.

In her speech, commissioner and secretary, Sarah R. Ritse while congratulating the outgoing officer reminded the officers and staff of the department to respect and obey the chain of command that flowed from top to bottom.

OSD Michael Zaren also highlighted some of her notable contribution which is taking keen interest in the cadre review of the department which is nearing its completion and up gradation of project officers in remote areas.

Speaking at the programme, outgoing director K. Atoli Sema encouraged district officers to see their work as an opportunity and work with sincerity and dedication.

She reminded them that the duties assigned to them were nothing short of missionary work and advised them to dedicate themselves to the service.

A short anamnesis clip highlighting the journey of the outgoing director was also presented.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by joint director, Tosheli Zhimomi. The programme was attended by various dignitaries, officers and staff of social welfare department and well-wishers.

It may be mentioned that Michael Zaren would be the next incumbent to head the department.
