State COVID tally inches towards 1400-mark

DIMAPUR, JUL 27 (NPN): Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally inched towards the 1400-mark after 45 fresh cases were reported on Monday from across the state.

 

As per the Health department bulletin, the state’s tally as on July 27 stood at 1385 cases– 811 active, 569 recovered and 5 deaths (5 deaths reported from Dimapur yet to be established as due to COVID-19).



Though the deaths were yet to be ascertained, the Health department said that 2 deaths were reported from Dimapur District Hospital, 1 death at a paid quarantine center, 1 death at Nikos Hospital and 1 death at Medzhiphema CHC.

 

Meanwhile, Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom said that the fresh cases on Monday were detected from 335 samples. 23 cases were from Kohima, 14 in Dimapur and 8 in Mon, he added.

 

As per the severity of symptoms, 808 active cases were asymptomatic, 2 with mild symptoms and 1 moderate case.

 

Till July 27, a total of 21,642 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 20,307 samples received. Out of the total of 14,489 samples received at BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 13,154 samples were tested and 904 samples tested positive.

 

In addition, a total of 14,898 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and 514 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.



A total of 2,593 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
