Kenye informed that the State Cabinet in its sitting today deliberated on the issue of public emergency and abstention from central and state elections by ENPO. On the issues relating to Frontier Nagaland Territory, Kenye said that no quarters have any misunderstanding or misconception on the issue. He also pointed that the State Government had recommended the matter to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Kenye addressed that the ULB is a semi-Autonomous body for local self government to manage their own affairs at their own local levels. The ULB election is to do with the grassroots level developments and is for the upliftment of our citizen, he said.
He, meanwhile, appealed the ENPO and others to actively participate in the upcoming ULB election to bring in more funds from the centre and to further develop “our town councils.”
