DIMAPUR, AUG 28 (NPN): COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland dropped to 929 cases on Friday with 2858 recoveries made so far from the dreaded virus.
On Friday, 21 fresh cases were reported from across the state, taking the tally to 3805 cases till August 28 with 929 active cases, 2585 recovered, 9 deaths and 9 migrated.
According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom 10 new cases were detected in Kohima, 7 in Dimapur, 2 in Zunheboto and 1 each in Wokha and Mon. The state also reported 115 recoveries as on August 28– 110 in Dimapur and 5 in Kohima.
Further, out of the 3,805 cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,623 cases from the Armed Forces, 1224 returnees, 264 frontline workers and 694 traced contacts.
India’s COVID tally climbs to 33,87,500
PTI adds: A record single-day spike of 77,266 COVID-19 cases pushed India’s virus tally to 33,87,500, while the recoveries surged to 25,83,948 on Friday, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The death toll climbed to 61,529 with 1,057 people succumbing to the diseases in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The recovery rate was recorded at 76.28 per cent while the COVID-19 case fatality rate has further declined to 1.82 per cent. There are 7,42,023 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 21.90 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
