Rising trend in mercury level witnessed in Nagaland state

DIMAPUR, APRIL 22 (MExN): As summer sets in, Nagaland state has witnessed a continuous rising trend in the mercury level. 

The Directorate of Soil & Water Conservation in a press release informed that in the last 5 days, it recorded an average maximum temperature of 28.4 degree Celsius while minimum temperature hovered at 17.5 degree Celsius. Relative humidity was recorded at 60.6% and total rainfall at 33.8mm. 

Maximum temperature was marked above normal by 3-5 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was above normal by 1.6 degree Celsius to 3.0 degree Celsius. The highest temperature of 37.0 degree Celsius was reported at Jalukie station and the lowest minimum temperature of 11.6 degree Celsius was reported at Shamator station on April 17, 2023, the release informed. 

Also quoting a report from the National Weather Forecasting Centre (IMD), the release stated that in the next few days, the state would be experiencing sturdy showers often accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning strikes with gusty wind reaching speed up to 30-40 kmph.
