Soyim Students’ Union (Soyim Shisaluyimer Telongjem), Ungma, celebrated Tsüngremmung festival at Babu Tzübu Amphitheatre by inviting all six student bodies of Ao Range, and with Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Technical & Tribal Affairs, as the chief guest.

Temjen Imna Along, in his speech said that a society will only go forward when the young minds introspect on the past society. He said that there is unrest in our minds and that we are socio-economically, traditionally, politically, and culturally unable to assert ourselves.

According to the Minister, in order to bring unity, we need to grow with our culture and tradition because it is our unique culture and tradition that will unite us and take us forward. “We need an inclusive Nagaland, not an exclusive Nagaland.

The Aos as pioneers have to start thinking differently. We have to think of a Nagaland where all the Naga tribes are included,” he said.

He also asserted that the youth these days are very smart but their level of patience and level of acceptance have gone down, and that their hearts have narrowed down to thinking only about themselves. He said that to bring about change, everyone should participate since the contribution of only one person will not help.

Moatemsu Longkumer, President, SST, gave the welcome address, Nungtokyanger Ao, President, Ao Students’ Conference, gave the Tsüngremmung greetings; and Imtidongba Jamir spoke on the significance of the day.

The six student bodies from the six Ao ranges, namely, Ongpangkong, Langpangkong, Jangpetkong, Japukong, Asetkong, and Tzurangkong, all presented a Tsüngremmung item each, and the programme concluded with a Tsüngremmong feast.
