Kohima, April 3 (MExN): An awareness and sensitization programme on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) held at the Directorate of industries & Commerce, Kohima on April 2.
During the programme a DIPR report stated that the Commissioner & Secretary for Industries & Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, IPoS emphasised that open digital for network commerce is an initiative by the Government of India with an aim to promote open networks for all aspects of exchange goods and services over digital network to enable local retail ecosystems to access and fulfill online demands and enhancing business efficiencies by reducing various cost overheads such as acquisition cost, digital presence costs and inventory costs across all businesses.
Kevichusa stressed on logistics service providers which lags in Nagaland where some rural areas are left out and that ONDC is expected to make e-commerce more inclusive and accessible for both buyers and sellers which will help in economic development and livelihood creating opportunities across digital commerce value chain including logistics, packaging, last-mile delivery and other areas.
He also mentioned that ONDC encourages local growth and help the local entrepreneurs in reaching out to local markets and encouraged to participate in e-commerce giving coverage to all businesses irrespective of size, location, digital quotient and other areas.
Senior Vice President Institutional & Government Banking, Yes Bank Limited, Ravi Roy appreciated the effort for organising the first of its kind in Nagaland and also an historic moment for ONDC and the Department of Industries & Commerce.
Ravi mentioned that open network for digital commerce is to democratise the Market since e-commerce is the future and it is the Reality going forward in changing life.
He also said Nagaland has lots to provide and it’s the right time to jump into e-commerce which will help the local entrepreneurs in reaching out locally made goods in the market and that ONDC also provide gift cards which can be utilise to purchase in all e-commerce platforms and also do business through it.
The programme also witnessed a technical session from Pooja Bajaj Bagaria, ONDC Team, DPIIT, Yaikhomba founder Addble Solutions Private Limited and Daniel Domeh, System Manager Post Office Kohima, Nagaland who spoke on the topic Open Network for digital commerce, Addble Solutions Private Limited and Book Now Pay Later (BNPL) respectively.
