Training-cum-sensitization on UDISE+ 2022-23 in Kohima

The District Mission Authority (DMA), Samagra Shiksha Kohima under the aegis of Nagaland Education Mission Society (NEMS) Samagra Shiksha, department of school education Nagaland, today conducted a one day ‘Training cum sensitization on Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) 2022-23 & Student Profile’ at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima.

School heads and principals of various schools under EBRC Viswema, EBRC Sechü Zubza and EBRC L. Khel Kohima joined the programme.

The training emphasized for implementation of real-time online UDISE+ 2022-23 incorporated with student-wise profile for child tracking system.

Delivering keynote address, Emilo Patton, District Education Officer Kohima-Cum-District Project Coordinator DMA, SS Kohima said the main objective of UDISE+ is to collect data from different schools across the country so that the government can bring about reforms in the education sector.

UDISE+ has become the major source of information in India’s educational system, she said adding that it helps to collect school details and its resources.

“It has become the unique identity for every school. Each school is provided with a unique 11 digit code that ensures that the school is under the supervision of the Government of India,” she said.

“If our educational system from all angles does not fit in our society it becomes meaningless. Times have changed and in this changing environment, our educational system must fit in the changing environment,” she said.

Patton also said the best possible education should be given to the students in the right way at the right time and at the right place.

The strength and achievements of schools depend on the quality of education, Patton said adding that “Therefore to bring about changes and improvement in the educational system, UDISE+ was created which is one of the largest management information from the UDISE+ data.

She said that UDICE helps “us to know the overall status of school education.”

UDISE+ is one of the largest Management Information Systems initiated by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The entire system is online and has been collecting data in real-time.
 
‘Every school must furnish facts correctly’
Delivering a short speech, Kevizeno Savino, SDEO Kohima said that UDISE is an activity where every school must furnish facts and figures correctly and accurately at the right specified time.

This UDISE report serves the life line, the backbone of the school where development of both academic and physical infrastructure take place, she said.

She said the data will help the planners in formulating the best strategy suitable for the downtrodden and neglected section of the society who are unable to afford basic education.

To the teachers, Savino said “We have a common goal and that is- to educate the child and therefore let us keep doing and rededicate ourself to the job you are entrusted with.”

The inaugural session was led by Thongsenlo, Assistant District Co-ordinator DMA, Samagra Shiksha Kohima while Vizoneilie Pienyii, TOTs EBRC L.Khel Kohima delivered vote of thanks.

Akum Aier, System Analyst, SMA, SS, Nagaland, Medosalie, System Analyst SMA, SS Nagaland and Aseno, assistant programmer, DMA, SS Kohima were the resources persons of the training programme.

Rokoneinuo, project assistant DMA, SS Kohima and Lovilie Vakha, coordinator EBRC Sechu Zubza chaired the first and second session respectively.

The training programme concluded with vote of thanks by Kedozo Yhokha, coordinator EBRC Viswema.

Meanwhile, similar training programme for EBRC Chiephobozou and Tseminyu will take place on January 23 in their respective centres.
