Kohima, March 28 (MExN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland has conducted a two-day study trip to Jorhat for Secondary Students of Government High Schools on March 23 and 24 with an aim to create curiosity, excitement and exploration among school children and promote enquiry based learning outside the classroom.
This trip was held under Rastriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) during 2022-23.
The team consisting of 33 Secondary students from Government High Schools and 10 teachers from across the state along with 2 officials from State Mission office visited CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat.
The Director of NEIST, Dr G Narahari Sastry along with his colleagues had an interaction session with the students on skill development and various scientific methods, the students were motivated to develop a scientific attitude and to set a goal and focus on it. The students also visited various laboratories in the campus.
On the second day, the team visited Majuli Island which is the biggest River Island in the world. After which, the team visited the Science Centre and Planetarium, Jorhat where the students got hands-on demonstration on some general principles of science.
