Nagaland: Re-poll in DMC Ward 20 concludes

DIMAPUR, June 29 (MExN): The re-polling in Polling Station 4 of Ward No. 20 under the Dimapur Municipal Council was conducted today. The process, which commenced at 7:30 AM and concluded at 4:00 PM, saw a significant voter turnout of 76.33%.

The State Election Commissioner (SEC), T. John Longkumer, expressed his satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the re-polling. “The smooth conduct of the re-polling process is commendable, and I appreciate the efforts of the District Administration and law enforcement agencies,” said Longkumer.

Following the re-polling, the overall poll percentage for all municipalities, after updating, now stands at 81.98%. The SEC also announced that the counting of votes is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024, starting from 8:00 AM at all the approved counting centers.

The SEC’s acknowledgment extended to all stakeholders involved, emphasizing the collaborative effort that ensured a seamless voting process. “The successful re-polling is a testament to the diligent work of everyone involved,” Longkumer added.
