Nagaland: Poll seizure crosses Rs 26 crore in value as on Feb 2

Kohima, February 3 (MExN): Progressive seizures of cash and other illicit items in the poll bound Nagaland state have already crossed over Rs 26 crore as on February 2. 

The daily seizure report released by the Nodal Officer (Exp.), office of Chief Election Officer, Nagaland stated that the value of total cumulative seizures as on February 2 is Rs 26,55,51,069. The previous day had recorded Rs 1,14,79,050.

The progressive seizure of cash recorded Rs 2.4525350 as on February 2. The total cash seizures (In Rs. Cr) by FST/SST/Police recorded Rs 1.04640 (seizure on previous day) and Rs 1.056535 (progressive seizure) while seizure by Income Tax Department recorded Rs 1.04 cr (seizure on previous day) and Rs 1.396 (progressive seizure). 

The report also shows the detail of the total liquor seizures in the State with quantity in litres and monitory value in crore. It included 26677.899 litres of IMFL worth Rs 1.9407094; 3757 litres worth Rs. 0.42965, and 711213 litres of Beer worth Rs 0.422118. 

The total drugs/narcotics seizure by FS/SST/other police authority etc came up to Rs 21.31009450 Cr. The drug items included Sunflower, SP capsules, Cough Syrup, Heroin, Brows Sugar among many others.  

There was no record on seizures of precious metal or of items/freebies. 

Assembly elections to the 14th NLA will be held on February 27.
