Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs minister Neiba Kronu today said that the Nagaland government is committed to fortify women’s role in the society.
He said that Nagaland’s Chief Minister Niphiu Rio is taking all efforts to facilitate for bringing solution to Naga political issue at the earliest.
Kronu also urge the women community to move forward for the progress of the development.
Kronu said this while addressing the gathering as guest speaker during general meeting of Khezha/Kuzha Tephe Women welfare Society held at Table Tennis Stadium, Pfutsero town in Phek district.
Focusing on “Trees for wealth,” Kronu urged the women community to conserve wild vegetables and fruits and intensify efforts towards bio-diversity conservation under Pfutsero area.
“Our survival depends a lot on the conservation of the natural resources and plantation of fruit trees,” he said and encouraged the women to undertake fruit trees and flowers plantation on larger scale to boost the economy.
He also shared his dreams and determination to develop Pfutsero area as the land of the plentiful.
Kronu also said that good road connectivity is turning into reality.
Other infrastructural development and major Agri link road under PMJSY from Pfutsero- Leshemi village is all set to start shortly, he said.
Stating that Nagas are now into decision making period, he challenged the women folk to take decision firmly and choose leaders wisely.
He also spoke on the ambit of eco-tourism outlook in the area and also stressed on the importance of creating standard home stay in the villages and towns.
Later, Kronu donated 10,000 coffee plant, 2500 persimmon trees and 1500 monkey bean trees to the villagers.
Chakhesang Baptist Churches Council Women secretary, Neingupe-ü Rhakho challenged the gathering that unclean practices during elections have penetrated the systems of Naga society.
In this, she urged the women folk to exercise their franchise right, stating that women should be the forerunners for the clean election to choose leaders wisely.
She said that huge involvement of money and selling of votes during the elections lead to the downfall of the development activities.
Earlier, programme was led by Kote-ü Mero while welcome address was delivered by Kerekha-ü Khutso.
