Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): In connection with the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly Election 2023, the Expenditure Observers assigned for Nagaland have arrived and addressing meetings in their respective constituencies.
Kohima: The Expenditure Observers Samatha Muliamudi for 9 Kohima Town A/C, 10 Northern Angami – I A/C and 11 Northern Angami -II A/C and Suraj Bhan Garhwal IRS for 8 Western Angami A/C, 14 Southern Angami-I and 15 Southern Angami-II A/C had a meeting with all the election personnel appointed in various capacities as part of the Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell at DC’s Conference Hall Kohima on February 1.
A DIPR report stated that DC & DEO Kohima, Shanavas C IAS gave an overview of the constitution of various teams under EEM Cell as per the ECI guidelines, number of personnel involved in various capacities. He gave a brief highlights on the ongoing job of various teams since the announcement of the Election and from the date of notification of election.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, a meeting was held at DC & DEO’s office with the two Election Observers of the district on February 1. A press release received here stated that the meeting was held with district election officials and EEM teams and reviewed the election preparations.
The Election Observers Harish and Rajkumar interacted with the district election officials with regard to the preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections. They also urged the public to raise their grievances and complaints if any with regards to the election to the authorities or directly to them through their contacts: 9366959748 (for Akuluto, Atoizu and Suruhuto) and 6009127140 (for Aghunato, Satakha and Zunheboto.)
Peren: Election Expenditure Observer (EO) assigned for 7th Peren A/C and 6th Tening A/C, Dayanandan T held an interaction with various team members of Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM) at ADC Office, Peren Town on February 1.
In the meeting, the EO said the main role of the EEM Team is to ensure that the election is conducted in a free and fair manner. He advised all the team members to work in close coordination and carry out their assigned tasks responsibly. The meeting was attended by DC & District Election Officer, Peren, and SP Peren.
Pfutsero: Expenditure Observer 16 A/C Pfutsero Ajay Dhoke, IRS held a meeting with Pfutsero district assistant expenditure observer, accounting team, magistrate of static surveillance team, magistrate of flying squads, video viewing team, and video surveillance team.
Tseminyu: Vaibhav Chandrakant Ghalme, ICAS, Expenditure Observer and Shyan Narayan Kumar, ITO Income Tax held a meeting on February 1 in the official chamber of DC Tseminyu along with magistrates for FST & SST, Team Leader of Video surveillance team & VV Team, Nodal Officer of Accounting Team, Assistant Expenditure Observer and members of Media Monitoring & Certificate Committee (MCC).
The programme was chaired by DC & DEO, Tseminyu, Dr Zasekuolie Chusi (IAS).
Longleng: Aditya Kamlakar Somkumar, IRAS, Expenditure Observer (EO) for 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng under Longleng district has arrived.
The Expenditure Observer held an interactive meeting with various teams/cells under the Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM) at DC’s conference hall, Longleng on February 1.
Phek: A training session for the Committee Members of the Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell was held on January 31 at DC’s Conference hall, Phek, where Rajesh Raina, IRS Expenditure Observer for 19th Phek AC (Phek) and 20th Meluri AC (Phek) spoke about official duties and responsibilities of government servants on Election duty and urged upon the officials gathered at the training session to sincerely perform their duties for free and fair election in the State.
DC & DEO Phek, Kumar Ramnikant IAS had also requested the officials to give their best effort to carry out a free and fair election in the District.
Election Expenditure Monitoring meeting
Kiphire: The Election Expenditure Monitoring meeting was organized in Kiphire at DC’s conference hall on January 31.
During the meeting, DC & DEO Kiphire Wati Aier read out the names enlisted in various teams under EEM, for the upcoming election at 59 and 60 Assembly Constituency. He highlighted the safe operating procedures (SOPs) of the Election Commission of India ECI in regard to the seizure of cash, arms, and frisking of passengers.
ADC & RO D Robin advised the team members to get well-versed with the given SOPs before actually executing the tasks. Renbemo RO 59 A/C requested the members to be sincere in the given duties, as at this period, any outcome of problems would be referred to the ECI.
