DIMAPUR, AUG 25 (NPN): Nagaland on August 25 recorded 38 new COVID-19 positive cases, out of which 31 were detected in Kohima, 3 in Mon and 2 each in Wokha and Peren, taking the tally to 3752 cases.

 

Out of 3,752 cases, there are 1,123 active cases, 2611 recovered, 9 deaths and 9 migrated. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,107 cases are asymptomatic, 15 mild and 1 moderate case.



Further, out of the 3,752 positive cases so far, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,617 cases from the Armed Forces, 1217 returnees, 258 frontline workers and 660 traced contacts.

 

India’s COVID tally rises to 31,67,323

PTI adds: With 60,975 people testing positive for coronavirus infection in a day, India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 31,67,323, while recoveries surged to 24,04,585 pushing the recovery rate to 75.92%, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The death toll climbed to 58,390 with 848 fatalities being reported in a span of 24-hours, the data updated at 8 am showed. The COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.84 per cent.

 

There are 7,04,348 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 22.24 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.



According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 3,68,27,520 samples have been tested up to August 24 with 9,25,383 samples being tested on Monday.

The health ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.
