DIMAPUR, AUG 9 (NPN): Nagaland on Sunday recorded 93 fresh COVID-19 positive cases taking the total tally to 2781 cases– 1866 active, 904 recovered, 8 deaths and 3 migrated.
According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom of the 93 cases that were detected on Sunday, 62 were reported from Dimapur, 20 in Kohima, 8 in Peren, 2 in Mon and 1 in Zunheboto.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1,863 cases were asymptomatic, 1 mild and 2 moderate.
Further, out of the 2,781 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 1,226 cases from Armed Forces, 1,072 cases from Returnees, 196 cases from Frontline Workers, 233 cases of Traced Contacts and 54 cases are of Others.
According to Health department’s data (positive cases by domicile district as on August 9, 2020), Dimapur district remained on the top, with 1396 cases, followed by Kohima- 524, Peren- 339, Mon- 265, Zunheboto- 75, Tuensang- 51, Phek- 32, Wokha- 26, Mokokchung- 18, Longleng- 5, Kiphire- 4 and others- 46.
1 more dead in Dimapur: Another death, suspected to be due to COVID, was reported in Dimapur on Sunday.
Sources said that the deceased, an elderly person, was reportedly having some health issues and had tested positive through TrueNat before his demise. However, RT-PCR report was yet to ascertain whether the persons died due to COVID. No further details could be ascertained.
With this, the number of COVID suspected deaths (all from Dimapur) rose to 13.
