DIMAPUR, JUL 22 (NPN) : Nagaland on Wednesday registered 54 fresh COVID-19 cases from across the state, taking the state’s total cases to 1084– 598 active and 486 recovered.
According to health department’s bulletin, 23 positive cases were reported from Dimapur, Kohima-19, Zunheboto-7, Peren-1 and 2 each from Mokokchung and Mon.
All the positive persons have been sent to the respective designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection, principal secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha stated in his daily briefing.
As per the severity of symptoms, 594 cases were asymptomatic, 2 mild, 1 moderate and 1 admitted to ICU on ventilator.
As per distribution of cases by domicile district, Dimapur reported the highest with 333 cases followed by Peren- 326, Kohima- 145, Mon- 124, Tuensang- 49, Phek- 18, Zunheboto- 14, Wokha- 11, Mokokchung- 9, Longleng- 5, Kiphire- 4 and others- 46.
Till July 22, a total of 19,833 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 18,749 samples received. Out of 18,749 samples, 11,793 samples were tested at the BSL-3 lab (NHAK) and out of which 654 samples tested positive.
In addition, a total of 13,058 samples were sent for testing on TrueNat, out of which 12,334 tested negative and 413 positive, which have again been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
