In what may be called an act of brazen of carelessness, a motorist in Kohima today brought the road leading to Commissioner’s Office to a standstill for several hours by leaving his car parked in the middle of the road blocking the one-way passage.
The incident happened in the afternoon, when a Black Scorpio parked the vehicle opposite the Congress Bhavan.
Onlookers said the vehicle had been parked for several hours creating huge traffic.
It may be mentioned here that the busy one-way road leads to several offices like the Commissioner’s, Deputy Commissioner’s District Court, State Bank of India Main branch and Assam Rifle camp, among others.
The Traffic Police on receipt of information also arrived at the spot to make arrangements for towing away the vehicle.
Onlookers informed that the owner of the vehicle arrived after several hours and claimed that he had parked his vehicle as no cars were parked on either side of the road. He had then left to attend his errands without leaving details for contact.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Police informed that the vehicle was seized and the owner was taken to police station and booked under relevant sections of the law.
