First Rain, a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting individuals through comprehensive mental health support, creativity, and community building, was officially launched today in Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung. The organization aims to provide tailored services that promote personal growth and well-being within a supportive environment.

Founded by Lanusenla Jamir, First Rain offers a wide range of services, including platforms for artistic expression, counseling services, mental health awareness campaigns, study spaces, and mentoring programs. The center also features high-speed Wi-Fi, a library, lounge areas, and educational seminars, with the first seminar scheduled for next week.

During the event, Lanusenla Jamir shared their vision of building a community where individuals can find rest in their purpose. “We believe that fulfillment comes when we align with our true purpose, and in that alignment, we can finally rest. Just as I needed someone to see my potential, we all need to be seen for who we truly are, to have our capabilities recognized.”

She described the launch as the beginning of a dream—an aspiration and a calling—and called for community support to help First Rain thrive.

At the launch event, First Rain Patron Imliyanger Jamir, father of the founder, delivered a short speech, and Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor of MTBA, dedicated the center. The core team includes Dr Bendangrenla S Longkumer and David Moa Theyagaraj.

To help sustain the center, a minimal fee is charged for access to the study space, with monthly rates at Rs 1000 and day rates for guests at Rs 100. Library books can also be borrowed for a nominal fee. The center is located at 73/G Sangtemla Ward, near the Taxes Office in Mokokchung.
