Mokokchung DPDB approves upgrade of schools

Mokokchung, April 18 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has approved the upgrade of Langpangkong Tzukong Government High School, Chuchuyimlang to Higher Secondary School with Science Stream and RC Chiten Jamir Memorial GHS, Changtongya to Higher Secondary with Arts Stream.

The approvals were made during the board meeting for the month of March and April which was held on April 14 at ADC (Planning) Conference Hall, Mokokchung under the chairmanship of Minister and Board Chairperson Tongpang Ozukum.

The house also approved grant for Impur Christian Hospital, for which the Chairperson will forward the matter for the next financial year, 2022-2023, along with upgrading of the VHC to Veterinary Dispensary at Moalenden under Longsa jurisdiction, according to a DIPR report.

The Health & Family Welfare Department gave a presentation on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana while District Agriculture Officer presented on PM- Kisan Samman Nidhi with focus on their implementation initiatives in the district. The District Sports Officer also briefed the house on ‘Khelo India,’ the DIPR reported.

Registration of Language Translation Centre Society and augmentation of resource outlet was presented by Fazl Ali College and the house asked the Health & Family Welfare Department to present a thorough report on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantra Jan Arogya Yojana Project implementation in the next DPDB meeting.

As per the DIPR, the Chairperson informed the house on the ensuing 22nd edition of Dr T Ao Football Tournament, which is to be held at Mokokchung from April 18 to 29. He urged all the departments to come forward and extend their co-operation for the success of the tournament.

The new Deputy Commissioner and vice-chairperson of DPDB Shashank Pratap Singh was welcomed during his maiden Mokokchung DPDB meeting, the DIPR report stated.
