Bats for making Zunheboto one of the best hill stations

Zunheboto, November 13 (MExN): The second day of the Zunheboto District Golden Jubilee celebration was marked by a ‘Blessing Service’ held at the Sumi Baptist Church, Zunheboto, with a call for unity as the focal point.

Speaking on the occasion, the guest of honour and Advisor Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi, recalled how the elders from the community came together to support the creation of Zunheboto District, leaving aside their differences.

Hence, he stressed on unity among the community members, informed a press release from the jubilee organising committee.
Zhimomi also reminded everyone that Zunheboto District Headquarters has only 7 kilometers in area and called for envisioning its expansion to 25 kilometers in the next 25 years.

He also urged citizens to envision the existing Town Council evolving into a Municipal Council and then into a hill station.
“We should envisage Zunheboto as a tourist destination and make it one of the best hill stations,” he added.

To achieve all these, the Advisor urged for unity, leaving aside egos, clan-ism, and all ‘isms’.

The special guest and MLA, Dr A Sukhato Sema, drew parallels between Jerusalem and Zunheboto District, claiming that the former was the centre of the world and Zunheboto the center of Nagaland. He also highlighted the growth of neighbouring districts in many aspects and urged the citizens of the district to give their best and provide space for growth.

Dr Sukhato called upon the citizens to focus on quality education, health infrastructure, and economic growth.

“There is power in numbers and there is power in unity,” he said, adding, “So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth,” and stressed that they should envision unity, be real, and understand that the power of unity itself says ‘we are interconnected’.

In his keynote address, Sumi Hoho President, I Nikheto Jimomi said that aligning with the Ahuna festival, a post-harvest celebration, it had declared the day as Sumi Prayer Day.

He further urged the Sumis to honourr such auspicious celebrations with cultural attires.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr Vihuto Asümi, General Secretary Sumi Hoho, while a special song was presented by ZTSBC choir and SBCZ Choir. Dr Hutton Sumi, Pastor SBCZ, delivered the message.
