DIMAPUR, September 4: Kohima District Level Committee (DLC) meeting for implementation of New India @75 activities was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC), Kohima on September 3. The meeting was chaired by ADC Kohima, N. Bhavani Sri.
According to a DIPR report, Bhavani highlighted the role of DLC, where she informed that the district level activities would comprise of two major activities: conduct of awareness drive at identified schools and colleges on the three themes (HIV, TB and blood donation) and coordinate with the identified schools and colleges for the competition activities.
The meeting nominated members and constituted sub-committee for awareness drive to carry out awareness activities. The house also nominated sub-committee for screening and competition for assessment and declaration of the results.
District programme officer (DPO), Sentimongla Tzudir also highlighted on the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) strategy plan of New India@ 75 to be implemented under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). She informed that NACO had planned to conduct three awareness campaigns on three phased manner, HIV, TB and Blood donation. After the awareness campaign, online competitions on the three themes would be carried out where prizes along with certificates would be provided to winners.
The target group of the campaign coverage was school students of classes IX and XI and red ribbon club members in the colleges /Institute. DPO also informed that for Kohima district, the strategy plan remained the same for all the three phases, however the timeline would be intimated on phase wise manner after approval from the state level committee.
