21-year-old Kawimaningsiliu with a vital statistics of 32.4-26-37 from Peren was crowned the coveted title of Miss Nagaland 2021 tonight here at a glittering show held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma. The event was organised by the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) in celebration of their 30th anniversary.
She was asked what according to her was the biggest problem that our youths are facing today and why? The biggest problem, she said is “the inability to know their worth, and to know what is beyond them.”
“Our youths need to start being a leader and voicing out for what is right. Come out of your comfort zones and start speaking for what is right,” she had answered.
In the semifinal round, she was also asked what makes her different from the other girls competing in the beauty pageant. To this, she had said, “everyone of us have a uniqueness in us but what makes me different is my perspective in life, and my day to day life experiences that make me different from the rest.”
Kawimaningsiliu won a cash prize of Rupees1 lakh, and will be the brand ambassador of TaFMA wherein she will receive a monthly stipend for a period of one year. The newly crowned Miss Nagaland will also be the state SVEEP icon. She also won the Miss Queen of Hearts subtitle.
22-year-old Lika Chophy from Zunheboto bagged the 1st runner-up and 19-year-old Lovi Awomi from Dimapur bagged the 2nd runner-up respectively. They were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.70,000 and Rs.50,000 while all the winners also received gift hampers. Lika Chophy also won the Miss Perfect 10 subtitle while Lovi Awomi won the Miss Beautiful Skin subtitle.
Maria Chanu Pangambam, Femina Miss India Manipur, Pranita Chetri, Miss Sikkim 2021, Sentienla Pongen Ezung, Miss Nagaland 2003, Dr Andrew Ahoto and Moalong yaden were the panel of judges.
