The Hornbill Fashion Night 2024, held on December 8 at Bamboo Hall in Kisama, was a captivating celebration of history, culture, and design. The event, organized by Novaturient Managements and supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, marked the third edition of the fashion showcase and was held under the theme “Tribute,” in honor of the 25th anniversary of the iconic Hornbill Festival.
The theme, “Tribute,” was a heartfelt homage to the times that shaped the present, acknowledging the enduring impact of traditions, values, and historical moments on the current generation. According to the organizers, the theme encapsulates a sense of nostalgia, reflecting on cherished memories while embracing the future. It represents not just a look back, but a call to draw strength from the past to guide and inspire a brighter tomorrow.
This unique blend of reflection and progression was evident throughout the night, as designers and models paid tribute to Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage while showcasing modern, innovative designs. The fashion event served as a bridge between the past and the future, honoring what was while inspiring what will be.
The impressive designer lineup included talented names such as Ngashanwon Vashum, Reema Tovika Swu, Hinoli K Assumi, TS Academy of Design/ Kezhaselie Seyie, Adaphro Sheshuna, Kevisedenuo Khezhie, Iteibamle, Kezuweii Mero, and Zevinuo Kelio. Their collections blended traditional elements with contemporary flair, capturing the essence of the theme and the spirit of Nagaland’s cultural legacy.
The event featured 24 accomplished models from the Northeast, who graced the runway with elegance and poise, bringing the designs to life. The night was made even more special with the expertise of Johny D’Ascoli as the official make-up artist, Khruku Ltu as the official photographer, and Theja Sekhose as the show director.
