As part of the ongoing 40 Days of Revival, the Sinai Ministry based in Dimapur is hosting a five-day ‘Heal Nagaland’ event starting from April 15 to 19 at the football ground of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.

Speaking on the day 36 of the 40 Days of Revival, Rev Kilang Jamir, Director, Youth Harvest Ministry gave a call to ‘live true of who you are.’ He encouraged the young people to be bold, strong, and persistent and, trust God to do the rest.

He said that the challenge to “live true of who you are” is a high calling from God. ‘We cannot live of who we are not. If you are not a real Christian, you cannot live a Christian life,” he said. Stating that knowing the history of Christ cannot save a person, Rev Kilang said that ‘it is not possible to live Christian life with an idea.’

He stressed that ‘it is not enough that you come to Jesus only for physical healing; it is not enough to pray just for blessing.’

“Our state (Nagaland) is a Christian State but I don’t know how many of us genuine, spiritual born-again Christians are,” he put across while adding; “I strongly believe spiritually born again Christians are a minority in Nagaland today and this is a great challenge for us today. According to the religious census we may have 90+ more Christians but according to the spiritual census we will be very, very few.”

He urged the congregation to do away with the religious mentality. “How long can we play with God with this double standard? Challenge yourself with the question “am I a true, real Christian?” he challenged and said, “Christ is looking for a relationship and not religious people.”

‘The next question is ‘are we living a real Christian life?’ We cannot preach one message and a live a very contrary life,” he asserted.

For this he asked the gathering to ‘Check their life in the light of the Word.’ “We need to be Biblical Christian and not a traditional Christian. Just following the tradition that has been passed from our forefathers, the practices and norms that have nothing to do with the word of God, and the Spirit have nothing to do with that humanly created traditions,” he proclaimed.

He also said that God always has remnants/faithful. Though they might be few, God always has remnants, the faithful of God. They always come to the side of God, always stand with God, always obey the word of God and they always listen to the calling of God in their life. “And thank God in Nagaland, we have faithful and remnants. We might be few but if God is on our side we will be victorious. We need to come out from anything that is not consistent with the word of God,” he said.

Rev Kilang also said that Naga society needs to become a Christian society “because God has called us from every tribe and every language and nation to be His special chosen people.”

He also encouraged all to never take issue on the line of tribe, never take social issues or any conflicts in the line of tribalism. “We should be true and honest to our conscience and always stand with the truth as God’s people,” he stated.

Call for repentance and forgiveness
On day 37 of the revival on Saturday, Wabang Longchari, director of Sinai Ministry and also the lead pastor of The Lighthouse Church, Dimapur gave a call for repentance and forgiveness.

He said that repentance and forgiveness are a must for healing. If you are talking about healing the land then there has to be repentance and there has to be time to ask God for forgiveness and also to people. He also stressed on the need to “release forgiveness if you want to see the healing of God in our place and land.”

Longchari also stated that in Nagaland, many Christians have limited sin to just abusive substances or disobedience. He urged the gathering to address the evils of corruption in the form of manipulating documents, stealing electricity, taking bribes, appointing substitute teachers etc. “If we really want to see a Healed Nagaland we need to serve faithfully, teach faithfully wherever we are placed,” he affirmed.

“We need both spiritual and social transformation and it all begins from us,” he added.
