DPDB Dimapur approves schemes for ‘iconic projects’ under LADP

MORE FOCUS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO COVID SITUATION, REVIVAL OF ECONOMY: ZHALEO

DIMAPUR , Sept 3: The monthly Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September was conducted on September 2, in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of advisor, sericulture, excise and minority affairs and chairman DPDB Dimapur, Zhaleo Rio.
During the meeting, DPDB Dimapur approved finalisation of LADP (2021-22).
The board also approved schemes for “iconic projects” under LADP including: construction of Rongmei council customary court at Chungaizaeng Colony, Burma camp under 1-Dimapur I A/C; construction of link road, Signal Angami to Kevijau measuring 700 meters under 2 Dimapur II A/C; construction of Urra area village union office building at Urra village under 3 Dimapur III A/C; construction of Rostrum cum open Gallery at Khaghaboto Town under 4 Ghaspani-1 A/C and construction of indoor stadium at Medziphema village under 5 Ghaspani-II A/C.
Zhaleo pointed out that in every aspect, Dimapur DTF was doing remarkably well and impressed upon the departments to continue rendering their services so that the apprehension of the third wave could be mitigated with collective effort.
Zhaleo also stressed on giving more focus to the pandemic situation, revival of economy and outreach in the uncovered areas.
Highlighting the COVID-19 status, CMO Dimapur, Dr. Moa Jamir informed that till September 1, number of Covid positive cases stood at 337 where 301 were under home isolation, 16 Covid patients admitted at District hospital Dimapur, 19 at CISHR Dimapur and one patient at Covid cate center, New DC’s complex.
He further informed that from January to August this year, total of 72905 underwent Covid test out of which 7412 were found positive taking the positivity rate to 10.2%.
On implementation of prepaid metering system
Electrical division Dimapur, EE informed the house that as per the directive from higher authority and ministry of power, the department would start implementing prepaid metering system in all the offices, towers and quarters. Observing that Nagas were not used to paying electric bills, EE pointed out that once prepaid metering system was introduced, citizens would use power judiciously. He said that this would assure power stability in the long run.
In this regard, commissioner of police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo assured full cooperation in terms of manpower to the department.
Expressing his personal opinion, Tetseo suggested for underground wiring system or using sealed wires in order to avoid power theft.
Members also shared their views on practical problems for monthly payments of bills as government released payments only once in a year for rent and rates taxes.
The members suggested the department to come out with a policy for managing the bills, particularly for government offices.
Advisor Zhaleo noted that the prepaid metering system was a good step but reminded the department to ensure accurate billing.
The meeting also reviewed last meeting minutes, approval for opening and upgradation of schools, change of nomenclature of excel children school to Dzuvian school, recommendation of Grant in Aid to Charisma school, circuit house colony, Dimapur, St John Higher Secondary Residential School Diphu Road, Indisen Village, St. Tetesa’s Little Kingdom, Fellowship Colony Dimapur.
As entrusted, agriculture department presented the departmental activities with PowerPoint presentation.
Department of fisheries was entrusted to present the departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
