“Nagaland has the great responsibility of living up to the ‘Nagaland for Christ’ slogan,” said Andrew Ahoto Sema, chairperson of Livingstone Foundation International. Faith Theological College, Dimapur, held its 13th Graduation Ceremony 2022 on April 28, where Sema was the guest speaker and Pohwang Konyak, Advisor for Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD, Relief & Rehabilitation was the special guest.
The college handed away graduation certificates to 21 students — 1 in Diploma in Theology, 9 in Bachelor of Theology, 8 in Master of Divinity and 3 in Master of Theology – at the ceremony.
Sema termed the slogan a very big tag, which in itself implies a commitment to Christ. But he asked whether Nagas are living by it and delivering in action. According to him, the fresh graduates have a role to play to deliver on the slogan. “Your work has just begun, and to achieve the tagline which we have been given, each of us is equally responsible and everyone has different role to play… If you can multiply your talent, you can change the world to a better place,” he said.
While stating that leaders in Nagaland are being selfish, he expressed hope that the leaders would “think for the society more than for oneself.”
Special guest, Pohwang Konyak recalled the commitment to produce 10,000 missionaries from Nagaland. “Through you, you can bring many other believers,” he said, while advising them to stay away from politics, which he described as “bitter.”
“You get drunk in politics, and it is a bad road because even if you work or you don’t, there will always be complaints from the people,” he said. “Do good works and bring out the good in people even after leaving the college.”
