Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): The Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) was advised to strengthen COVID-19 management protocols as several states across the nation are battling a ‘second wave’ of infections.
During a meeting of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board, Chairperson Zhaleo Rio who is also the state Advisor for Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs advised the DTF not to become complacent but be prepared for any eventualities.
In this regard, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan who is also the vice chairperson of the board pointed out that Dimapur is a transit point for travelers from all districts and appealed to all the Heads of Departments to be mentally and physically prepared to fight the second wave. He also informed that the DTF would start enforcing COVID-19 protocols on a daily basis and directed the Dimapur Municipal Council to ensure that all shopkeepers observe COVID-19 protocols.
According to a DIPR report on the meeting, Chairperson Zhaleo Rio called on the officers in the district to cooperate and coordinate with each other in order to work for the welfare and upliftment of the general public. He opined that the board meeting was a ‘common platform’ for sharing views and opinions for the betterment of the district and encouraged the Heads of Departments to “Feel free and share the activities, achievements and even failures” of their respective departments. Rio also requested the legislators of Dimapur district to attend the monthly meetings, the report stated.
As per the report, DC Soundararajan informed that Aghunaka has been selected as the Aspirational block under Dimapur district, for which a committee would be constituted at the earliest and notifications would be issued.
Other agendas discussed during the meeting included recommendations for registration of societies, change of nomenclature of Concern Kids Montessori School to Concern Kids School 4th mile. The house also approved to the higher authority with regard to opening of new schools namely, Rising Montessori School, Toulazouma Village; Sunrise Pre-school, 7th Mile, Chümoukedima; upgradation of Riverine school at Thilixu village and Quest Fulfill School at Model Colony, Purana Bazaar. Shifting of Ebenezer High School, Dhansiripar to Selouphe village and Logos School from Sovima F Khel to Kuda Nagarjan B Khel was also deliberated and approved by the board to the higher authority, the report stated.
