The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) today called of its ongoing agitation demanding termination of the illegal Junior Soil Conservation Officer (JSCO) appointees following “successful negotiations and in compliance” with its demand.

This development came following the Directorate of Soil and Water Conservation (DSWC) submission of the termination letter for the “unauthorised appointees” and thereby resolving the issue.

This was stated by CTAN along with Graduate Electrical Engineers Association of Nagaland, Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland, Association of Mechanical Engineers Nagaland, Forestry Graduates’ Association Nagaland, Computer Science & Information Technology Engineers Association of Nagaland, Agricultural Students’ Association of Nagaland, Nagaland Library Association, Association of Electronics & Communication Engineering Nagaland, Agri Engg. Graduate’s Association of Nagaland, Nagaland Dental Welfare Association and Horticultural Gradates & Students Association of Nagaland.

The Associations had staged agitation for the second day at DSWC Kohima on March 12.

It may be recalled that in response to the DSWC’s non-compliance with CTAN’s demand to terminate the illegal appointees by March 11, the CTAN organisation declared a lockdown of the directorate. “Due to the department’s failure to terminate the 2 illegal JSCO appointees, we are compelled to lock your (Directorate of Soil & Water Conservation) office,” stated a banner put up by CTAN.

Meanwhile, the CTAN organisation acknowledged the prompt response and action taken by the Directorate. “In light of this positive development, the CTAN organisation hereby announces the immediate cessation of the agitation planned in response to the non-compliance issue,” stated the Association in a press release received here. It further appreciated the commitment demonstrated by the DSWC in rectifying the situation.

The CTAN recognised the importance of maintaining open communication channels and fostering collaboration between organisations for the greater good, it added. Looking forward to continued cooperation in addressing any future concerns, the Association also expressed gratitude to all concerned members for their understanding and support throughout this process.
