CS calls for monitoring attendance of officers

DIMAPUR, September 11: A meeting of administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) and heads of departments (HoDs) was held in the secretariat conference hall on September 10 under the chairmanship of the state chief secretary (CS), J. Alam.

During the meeting, CS asked the AHoDs and HoDs to continue monitoring the attendance of officers and staff and urged them to work in close association with one another.

He urged all the departments which had pending advertisement bills to pay their bills to the newspapers at the earliest.

Alam stressed on the importance of maintaining websites and asked all the departments to keep it updated as he said, it was the only source to keep citizens informed about the department.

Such updates on websites with the right and timely information will drastically reduce the number of RTI cases, he added.

Meanwhile, principal secretary IT & power, K. D. Vizo disclosed that out of 95 departments, only 72 departments had updated their websites and that the remaining 23 departments were yet to be updated.

He pointed out the cabinet decision in 2016 which clearly stated that all government departmental websites were to be hosted at state data centre.

Principal secretary home, Abhijit Sinha asked all the departments to come up with activities and programmes and submit reports to the home department in commemoration of the 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav).

During the meeting, department of law & justice notified on “engagement of legal consultants” with regard to discontinuation of appointment of legal consultants, advisers and assistants.

He said that the notification superseded all other notifications dealing with the engagement of legal assistant, legal advisers, legal consultants including the finance department’s notifications. During the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation on CAG audit report was presented by the finance department.
