Stating that everyone has a unique story, shaped by their upbringing, culture and personal experiences, Er. Daniel Krocha, Deputy Director of Department of Information Technology & Communication on Friday remarked that these differences are not barriers, but are bridges and opportunities “to learn, to grow, and to see the world through lenses beyond our own.”
Addressing the 26th General Session of the Razeba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (RTCSU) at Razeba Local Ground on December 27, he underscored that, “By embracing diversity, we create stronger, more unified communities and brighter futures.” He illustrated his point through the story of a village boy who brought together two divided villages through new ideas and viewpoints even while reminding the two villages that adopting new ideas does not mean abandoning their roots but strengthening them.
“When we step out of our comfort zones and view the world through others’ eyes, we discover that differences are not threats but opportunities”, he asserted.
“Embracing diversity, however, requires humility and courage”, he remarked while also highlighting that “it means listening, not to respond, but to understand.”
Citing Israel as a remarkable example of how exploring diverse perspectives and embracing differences can lead to extraordinary growth, he reiterated that the example of Israel shows that, “when we embrace diversity and encourage varied viewpoints, we can overcome challenges, unlock potential, and achieve remarkable progress—regardless of the size of the nation or its resources.”
Stating that Razeba Town can adopt Israel’s approach to really prosper and succeed, he said that “Razeba is small (for now), but does not lack in terms of talent and is the only cosmopolitan place in the region.” While the only drawback they might feel is not being recognized as a village and therefore not being able to access certain funds for the VDB and MGNREGA, he pointed out that Razeba has most of the schemes such as scholarships as a student, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, etc. Rations through the PDS, to Old age pension. Razeba has an EAC Hqr, a PHC, a Govt High School, etc. which no neighbouring village has.
Exuding hope that Razeba can also slowly get recognized as a Town, he said this would further give it access to Urban Development, which would propel it to a position much better that neighbouring villages.
Although with a young population but with a good literacy rate, he also noted that Razeba has the potential to have the first NCS / NPS or even IAS/ IPS officer from the area.
“Razeba can become a vibrant economic ecosystem if we are able to take advantage of what is happening around us,” he further underscored while urging upon the gathering to take advantage of the tourism activities or mini trucks passing through the area to start creating a business ecosystem.
“As we stand on the threshold of progress, particularly in areas like entrepreneurship, technology, and social development, let us remember that no single perspective can provide all the answers”, he pointed out. However, he asserted that, “together, through the tapestry of diverse thoughts, we can craft solutions that are more inclusive, more empathetic, and more sustainable.”
The general session was held under the theme “Exploring new perspectives; Embracing diverse viewpoints”. Highlights of the event included invocation by Vizo Pohena, Pastor of Razeba Baptist Church, welcome note by Musi Domeh, General Secretary, RTCSU, Presidential address by Modovi Krocha, melody by Livirhu Rume & Chiulu Rume, exhortation by Mosonyi Krocha, Vice-chairman, Razeba Adhoc Town Committee, vote of thanks by Thovi Movi, Vice President, RTCSU and benediction by Vilie Veronica Krocha, Chairperson, Razeba Catholic Women Association while Rhi Rhi chaired the programme.
