Book on Tuisem & Margaret Shishak released

Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, AUG 29 (NPN): A book, titled, “As we know them The Shishaks” was released by one of the senior most faculties of the college, Dr. Jyoti Roy at Bundrock Chapel Auditorium, Patkai Christian College (PCC), here at Chümoukedima on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, one of the four editors, Dr. Lanuchuba Walling said that drafting the book was a blessing for him as it resembled dating in a stream of knowledge while corresponding with many in the course of writing the book.

He also extended gratitude to those who contributed testimonies to be added in the book.

While speaking on behalf of the batch, Dr. Adani Ngullie disclosed that the idea was planned after a WhatsApp group of the batch was created.

In her address, PCC vice principal, Angel Sonari acknowledged 1992-97 PCC batches for honoring the founder of the college.

She also noted that launching of the book coincided with the 47th foundation day of the college.

Delivering a short speech, Margaret Anne Shishak expressed gratefulness as God had used her in the music department.

Meanwhile, Rev. Dr. Tuisem A Shishak spoke about how he was constantly asked what his greatest achievement was. In this regard, he said that he would answer “Patkai Alumni” without hesitation.

He said that the greatest joy of his life was seeing Patkai alumni being productive across the world.

Rev. Dr. Tuisem shared that he has been writing his autobiography which he hopes to finish before he turned 91.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Peterkhrienuo Sorhie and dedicatory prayer for the book was offered by PCC chaplain, Rev. Vichukho Neikha.

Dr. Adani Ngullie also delivered a short speech on behalf of Patkai 1992-97 batch, a special number was performed by MSSM and closing remarks was delivered by Athonglo Thyug.

It may be mentioned that the book was an initiative of 1992-1997 batches of the college, celebrating the lives of Margaret Anne Shishak and Rev. Dr. Tuisem A Shishak.

The book would be available in Dimapur at Isa Book Stall, Books and Books and Modern Book Depot, in Kohima at Crossword and Bible House, in Mokokchung at Students Book Centre and Connect.
