AIDA undertakes workshop for college students in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA)-Child Friendly Dimapur (CFD) organised a workshop at MGM College auditorium under the theme “End Inequality, End AIDS, Educate Humanity” on March 8. 

In collaboration with MGM College, Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Don Bosco Job Placement Network the objective of the workshop was to raise awareness on ‘Right to Life, Survival and Development’. Almost 130 students and faculties attended the workshop.

Temsuyanger Aier, M&E Assistant, District AIDS Protection Control Unit (DAPCU), Dimapur was the resource person of the event.

During the session he presented a statistic of HIV infected persons in Dimapur district and elaborated on the treatment procedure for HIV-AIDS. Adding to which he also shared on the roots of transmission i.e., sharing of used needles, infected blood transfusion, unprotected sex with an infected person and infected mother to the child and the precautionary measures from getting infected. In his concluding note he stressed on Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and the types of STIs prevalent among adults. He also encouraged the youths to stay informed and educate humanity.

Later, Garrol Lotha, Project Coordinator, CFD spoke on the concept of Child Friendly Cities  Initiative and the guiding principles implemented by AIDA-CFD in local level. She encouraged the participants to be more responsible in nurturing a child and take up responsibility to advocate and mentor children towards making Dimapur a Child Friendly Dimapur with their own potentiality. 

Sebi Chacko, AIDA Job Placement Network Coordinator Dimapur introduced the AIDA job placement programs to the participants. In his session, he particularly focused on the services provided for the student which includes career guidance, E-certification, employability skilling programs, job placement supports and safe migration programs. The students were also encouraged to reach out for any guidance through the tech friendly program of AIDA- JPN mobile app and web portal, a press from AIDA informed.
