DIMAPUR, AUG 12 (NPN): Nagaland on Wednesday recorded 87 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 3118 cases– 1991 active, 1113, 8 deaths (one not COVID related) and 6 migrated.

 

According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom, the 48 new cases were detected in Dimapur, 35 in Kohima, 3 in Zunheboto and 1 in Wokha. Further, out of the 3,118 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,427 cases from the Armed Forces, 1,115 cases of Returnees, 319 traced contacts, 203 cases of Frontline Workers and 54 Others.



According to Health department’s data (cases by domicile district), Dimapur topped the list with 1557 cases, followed by Kohima- 673, Peren- 343, Mon- 283, Zunheboto- 78, Tuensang- 52, Phek- 32, Wokha- 27, Mokokchung- 18, Longleng- 5, Kiphire- 4 and others- 46.

 

India’s COVID tally crosses 23 lakh-mark
NEW DELHI, AUG 12: India’s COVID-19 tally went past 23 lakh Wednesday with a single-day increase of 60,963 infections, while 834 new fatalities, reported in a span of 24 hours, pushed the death toll to 46,091, data updated at 8 am showed.


The recovery rate soared past 70% on Wednesday with 16,39,599 people having recuperated from the disease so far in the country, while active cases comprise 27.64% of the total caseload, the Union Health Ministry said.
