Nagaland COVID tally nears 1000-mark

DIMAPUR, JUL 19 (NPN): After 10 fresh COVID-19 positive cases were registered on Sunday, Nagaland’s tally inched towards the 1000-mark. The state’s total tally as on July 19 stood at 988– 543 active and 445 recovered cases.

 

According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom the positive cases were detected from among 79 samples that were tested. He said that 6 cases were reported from Kohima, 2 from Mokokchung and 1 each from Dimapur and Longleng.



As per the severity of symptoms, 539 active cases were asymptomatic, 2 were with mild symptoms and 2 with moderate symptoms.

 

All the positive persons have been shifted to the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Till July 19, a total of 18,465 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 17,517 samples received.

 

Out of 11,137 samples that were received, 11,087 were tested at the BSL-3 (NHAK) out of which 579 tested positive. In addition, 12,103 samples were sent for testing through Truenat out of which 11,463 tested negative and 365 positive which were again sent for reconfirmation by RT-PCR.
