NPCC protests against NEET-UG & UGC-NET paper leaks

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Friday staged a protest at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, decrying the massive irregularities and paper leaks in the recent examinations.

The protest was called based on the allegations of paper leakage in the NEET-UG 2024 examination, and the subsequent cancellation of the UGC-NET exam 2024.

Demanding accountability, NPCC party workers held posters and banners which read: “UGC must stop putting the students’ future at stake,” “Investigate National Testing Agency (NTA),” “NEET UGC NET both victims of NTA’s negligence,” etc.

Meshenlo Kath, Co-chairman of the Public Grievances Cell, NPCC, addressing the gathering, criticised the Modi government for allegedly misleading the public stating “for how long can the Modi government fool the people of India?”

Highlighting the acute shortage of doctors in India, Kath said the future of medical aspirants is at risk due to the massive irregularities in the conduct of exams.

He also expressed shock over the news of 67 students scoring full marks of 720 in the recent NEET exam which he viewed, as ‘impossible’ while remarking that it happened for the first time in the history of India.

He also noted that the recent UGC-NET exam on June 18, which is designed to certify eligibility of students for assistant professorships and research fellows etc, has been marred by a paper leak.

Towards this end, Kath demanded the resignation of the Education Minister of India on moral grounds, “If he is man enough, he should resign on moral grounds.”

NSUI President, Sandemoda Y Ngullie also spoke at the protest informing that four individuals had been arrested in connection with the paper leak. He asserted that NTA must come out clean on these anomalies, and stop messing with the future of the students.
