ACVA Wokha district resolves not to entertain commercial vehicles tax to any NPGs or factions

All Commercial Vehicles Association (ACVA) Wokha district during its 10th Foundation Day celebration at conference hall, Lotha Hoho Ki, Wokha on May 17 has resolved “not to attend any meeting of any Naga Political Groups (NPGs) factions, if the purpose of the meeting is not stated clearly in the letter.”

During the second session of the programme, general discussion and adoption of resolution was conducted, where it resolved not to entertain any form of yearly commercial vehicles tax to any Naga Political Groups (NPGs) or factions “until and unless NPGs/factions come under One Common Platform.”

“In case of intimidation or harassment meted to any of its office bearers, members of vehicles of All Commercial Vehicles under Wokha district relating to taxation from any NPGs/factions or individual/person (s), the concern person would be solely held responsible for the action,” the house resolved. 

Further it resolved to stand on ‘One Government One Tax’ and to extend unflinching support and cooperation to ACAUT resolution on ‘One Government One Tax’.

The general also passed the resolution that “if any Wokha bound commercial vehicle drivers or owners found paying tax to any of the NPGs/factions, the concerned driver/owner should be held responsible for all the commercial vehicles in Wokha.”

The association also cautioned all commercial vehicles driver/owner(s) not to indulge in carrying of alcohol, drugs and rash driving as such reports been received and caused of accident in some cases. “Violating this order would be doing at their own risk and association will not held responsible,” it resolved. 

ACVA Wokha district also resolved that all the commercial vehicles sub-union to negotiate any kind of issue/matter at their own union level. “Except on matter related to taxation and if the matter/issue is not able to negotiate, then the same matter will be reported.”

“On the matter relating to yearly commercial vehicles tax or forceful collection of money, action committee will be compelled to take action or exercise the power directly to any NPGs/Factions or the person (s) concerned,” it also cautioned. 

Surprise checking will be conducted to any commercial vehicles when the situations demand/arise and stern action will be taken to the defaulters. Finally, the house resolved that there will be no other sub union, range, circle or unit under the banner of All Commercial Vehicles Association (ACVA) Wokha District HQ Wokha “until and unless the resolution is amend.”

ACVA Wokha members called to strengthen the association 
Earlier, during the formal celebration programme, the ACVA Wokha District President, C Renbi Ngullie, in his greetings reminded that through the initiative of ACAUT in 2014 against unabated taxation, ACVA Wokha Unit initiated the ‘One Government One Tax’ movement with the rest of the people in Wokha. “And through that Wokha became the only tax free District in Nagaland. But it is unfortunate to note that many vehicle owners seeking the help of ACVA officials do not even know the Foundation day of the Association,” Ngullie claimed. He therefore, encouraged the members to actively participate with the association as it was for the welfare and benefit of the members.

Briefing the members present on the formation of ACVA, Ngullie stress that the pioneering members had to undergo serious of meeting and hardships during the formation of this Association. Further, he reiterated that ACVA since its inception had adhered to the idea of “One Government One Tax.” Therefore, he urged the members to stick to that tradition of standing by the concept of the Association.

Short speeches were delivered by federating members of All Nagaland Taxi Association Wokha Unit Truck President, T Renbemo Kikon highlighted on the association’s activities throughout the year. He stated that the unit is working towards generating a grievances cell. Wokha District Mini Truck Union, General Secretary Matthew Jami urged to keep the spirit alive like during the initial days of formation and vouched to support ACVA. 

Member of Wokha District Bus Union, Hayithung Odyuo emphasised that ACVA is immensely working towards the betterment of the association and all the units hence urged to extend cooperation whenever required.  Wokha District Pick up Union President, Chumdemo Kikon called for kindness and provides good services to the customers. Wokha District Auto Union President, Sulan Ezung stated that the union was formed in the year 1999 and will be celebrating its silver jubilee this year. He also maintained that the union operates under the Regional Transport Authorities and urged for support as their jubilee nears. 

Wokha District Local Truck Union President, Evung Ezung encourage the local truck owners union urged for registration in the association and to adhere to the associations principles and cooperate with ACVA .

The programme was chaired by Senchumo Ngullie, General Secretary WDAU General Secretary. Invocation offered by Chumthungo Kithan, Treasurer, WDPU.

Later after the programme, a car rally was held Local Ground till Essar Fuel Station and tug of war was conducted Unit Wise at Local Ground Wokha.
