Legislators, civil society, tribal hohos to meet on Naga political issue

Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Dr. Imtiwapang Aier has convened the Nagaland Legislators’ Forum Consultative meeting with the Ex-Parliamentarians and Civil Societies on Naga Political issue on 4th December, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Regional Centre of Excellence in Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.

The meeting assumes significance against the backdrop of calls for early solution to the Indo-Naga political issue. A Framework Agreement was signed between Delhi and the NSCN (IM) on August 3, 2015. With public demand for inclusion of other Naga political groups, the Government of India recently invited six more groups . An agreement was signed as recently as November 17, 2017 with the working committee of the six Naga Political Groups.

All the Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Members of Parliament, Ex – Parliamentarians and Civil Societies listed below have been requested to attend the consultative meeting. Of interest to note is that the Church has been left out of the meeting.

Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Naga Hoho, Eastern Naga People’s Organization, Naga Mothers’ Association, Eastern Naga Women Organization, Naga Student’s Federation and Eastern Naga Student’s Federation.

(Two member delegation from each Tribal Hoho)

Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Chang Khulei Setshang,  Khiamniungan Hoho, Konyak Union,  Lotha Hoho, Phom People’s Council, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Sangtam Likhum Pumji, Sumi Hoho Yimchunger Tribal Council, Zeliangrong Baudi (N).
