The 32nd edition of the Miss Nagaland Pageant will be held on December 8 at the state cultural hall, Kohima. Making the announcement at a press conference at Ura Hotel today in Kohima, members of the
Beauty and Aesthetics Society (BASN) informed that this year, they are expecting around 14 contestants for the crown.
Considered to be one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the State, Miss Nagaland will see participation from most of the district winners, however with an open audition, the district whose pageants could not be held there is a line up of representatives from most of the district. These 14 contestants will see each other at the semifinals.
The state level beauty pageant provides a host of opportunity for winning contestant to further nurture and gain experience at larger platforms. Citing some examples, BASN members said the winners are given opportunity to contest at regional platforms like direct entry to Miss Northeast. It may be mentioned that during the recently held Miss Northeast Pageant held in Sikkim, the first runners up of Miss Nagaland 2022 won the title of Miss Northeast.
This year too, Miss Nagaland and the first runners up will represent Nagaland in the Miss Northeast pageant to be held in Arunachal Pradesh next year in the month of October. We will also send our winners to a national beauty pageant and on winning have arena to participate at international pageants.
The winner and 1st runners up, as such will get a direct entry to Miss Northeast, in the upcoming event too.
The organizers also announced the prices for the ensuing pageant competition and informed that Miss Nagaland will take home a sum of Rs. 1 lakh, free franchise fee for Miss Northeast and gift hampers.
Rs. 70,000, with gift hampers and Rs. 50,000 with gift hampers have been earmarked for the 1st and 2nd runners up.
The tickets for the final event to be held in Kohima on December 8 of Miss Nagaland are priced Rs 300, Rs 500, Rs 1000 and are already available at Symphony, Dcafe among others.
The organizers announced 6 titles under Miss Nagaland.
This year, the event will be choreographed by BASN, Finance Secretary and former Miss Nagaland, Veineinem Singson.
The organizers said, the grooming sessions will start from December 1-7 and participants will arrive on November 30. During the weeklong grooming session, contestants will get into intensive communication, personality, media interaction, ramp and choreography and basic makeup training.
Antodya Skills Foundation is this year’s title sponsor and the Miss Nagaland is being presented in collaboration with Atomy India, a Korean beauty line.
Despite the BASN being consistently organizing the Miss Nagaland for the last 31 years by making efforts from various fronts, it said that due to it being a non-profit organization, it looks at sponsors, investors both government and non governments organizing for the sustenance of the event.
The organizers said more details will be given in the coming days.
