Kenei Ritse from Nagaland crowned Miss Northeast 2023

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): Kenei Ritse from Nagaland was crowned the title of Miss Northeast 2023, during the Beauty pageant grand finale held at Saramsa Garden on Sunday at Gangtok, Sikkim. The event was organised under the banner of North East Beauty Pageant Organisation and hosted by Government of Sikkim.

Assam’s Anamika Borah was declared as the first runner-up, while Mizoram’s Jennifer Renthlei was declared as the second runner-up.
Reigning Miss Nagaland Hikali Achumi also won the subtitle Miss Beautiful smile.

Kenei Ritse, 21 was representing Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (Miss Nagaland Organization). Ritse hails from Pfutseromi Village under Phek District, Nagaland and is the reigning Miss Nagaland 1st runner up. She had also won the title of Miss Phek in 2022.

A psychology student at Tetso College, Ritse is also a topper in the university and an activist in her social work, campaigning on Mental Health. Her sole purpose of participating in beauty pageants was to advocate the people on Mental Health awareness. 

Ritse, so far has launched 2 projects initiated under Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP), both projects was held at Pfutsero town, Phek district. Accompanied by her Team, Team Afti and the expertise of esteemed resource persons, the campaigned was able to reach out to about 200 participants from various educational institutions. 

With her goal to enhance collective understanding on mental well-being, she wish to take her project to the next level to help people feel heard, safe and also to remove the stigma around it in the society.

She believes that with her new platform will be able to help create more opportunities for new projects so that she will be able to reach out to all the masses.

The two beauty queens will be landing in Nagaland on November 8 where a grand welcome reception will be accorded.
