Orientation for NSSB recruits under Department of School Education held

A two day in-house orientation programme for NSSB recruits under the Department of School Education (DoSE) commended at the Directorate of School Education, Kohima on Wednesday. 

Addressing the introductory session, Hiazu Meru, Additional Secretary, School Education congratulated over 100 successful candidates in respect of LDAs, Hindi, physical education and drawing teachers, who have been recruited through Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB). “You have come out successful through a competitive examination, which proves that you have the quality,” he said.

To the newly recruit LDAs, he said, “This is just the beginning of your career and you need to get yourself trained and get acquainted properly to work in the right direction.”

Stating that every matter they process has a rule and guideline, he asked them to know the rules, orders, notification, office memorandum, office procedure, leave rules, conduct rules, routing of files through proper channel.

“If you can project the case properly, the higher level officers will be in a better position to dispose of the file on time,” he said.

To the newly recruited teachers, Meru asked them to be sincere in their duty and work for the betterment and upliftment of children education in various parts of the state. He called upon them to be ambassadors and face of the school education department.

He suggested that education department can have convergence programme with the Rural Development Department for construction of accommodation in the villages for the teachers.

Further, he reminded all the newly recruit LDAs and Teachers that, “as Christians we believe in the different callings. As you begin your career, you should work hard with all sincerity and I know that this alone will give you job satisfaction and blessing from God Almighty.”

Stating that most of the functioning of the government is now based on technology, he called upon the teachers to use IT tools wisely.

School Education Principal Director, Thavaseelan K also congratulated all the newly recruit LDAs and teachers. “Your actions are going to determine someone future,” he said adding that their service and contribution would go a long way in shaping the destiny of the state and the country.

The introductory session was chaired by N Thungchio Shitire, Assistant Director School Education while vote of thanks was proposed by Additional Director, Razouseyi Vese.

Later, Adreas, Under Secretary to the Government of Nagaland talked on office procedures, file management, noting and drafting. Sakuyuden, Registrar, Vitsolie, PEO and Peter, Assistant Director (Hindi) talked on general office management and rules. Representative from YouthNet also talked on office etiquette and soft skills.

On October 19, Micheal, SO, Raymond Vizo, SA and Longtsubo, Suptd, DoSE will talk on maintenance of service book, APAR, Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules 1968, Leave Rules, Study Leave, Basic Account matters respectively.
