26 Aonglenden AC held a thanksgiving programme for Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly at the Yimtsüngda Arok Sapang in Ungma village, Mokokchung on March 31.
The programme was attended by the seven units of 26 Aonglenden AC which comprises of four town sectors and three villages. Besides the seven units, NDPP Mokokchung Region, 26 Aonglenden AC BJP mandal, well-wishers and supporters of the Speaker were in attendance.
Sharingain in his speech thanked the ward councils, village councils, the supporters and frontal worker for working tirelessly in making him win. He said that a lesson he learned from the 14th General Election victory is that ‘nothing is impossible in unity.’ Besides sharing on various issues in the context of the Nagas in general and the Aos in particular, he went on to say that times, circumstances, and practices have changed, and that it is necessary to work while keeping up with the rapidly changing world.
The Speaker mentioned that he sought the assistance, guidance, and advice of the elders and councils but also stated that youths have played an important role and that one of the most important issues he will address is youth. He stated that he will work for youth employment opportunities, income-generating activities, and sustainable and progressive development policies, and for which he has sought advice and cooperation from everyone.
Short speeches were also shared by the ward chairman and village chairman present at the event and by the representatives of NDPP and BJP.
