A Circular road at D Khel (Mechobokou- Seithokha- Kharükou- Kenuokou- Dzülou) in Kohima village was formally inaugurated today.
This 2 km stretch circular road was constructed under MGNREGA 2022-23 (VDB Kohima village) and was inaugurated by Azenuo Pienyü, Director, Rural Development Department, Nagaland.
Speaking on the occasion, Pienyü expressed happiness over the community participation towards developmental activities and called upon the community to uphold the spirit of unity and continue to cooperate with the department for the upcoming projects as well.
Pienyü asked the community to strictly follow the prescribed criteria and guidelines of the Ministry of Rural Development relating to various schemes and projects.
Further, she called upon the people to ensure accountability and transparency to stay connected with the various developmental activities.
Sharing greetings, Pelesielie Khezhie, chairman, D. Khel Council thanked the department of rural development for making the circular road possible through MGNREGA.
He also thanked the Village Development Board (VDB) and concerned committee for the successful execution of the work. Further, Khezhie acknowledged 36 land owners for making the circular road possible.
Also stating that D Khel Council is planning to construct two more roads, Khezhie stated that he would look forward further help from rural development department.
Noumvüzolie Sachü, secretary, VDB Kohima village highlighted the background of the circular road.
The programme was chaired by Khriesatuo Keretsü, vice chairman, D Khel Council while Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü, pastor, Khedi Baptist Kehou pronounced dedicatory prayer.
Thejasenuo Kire presented a special number while vote of thanks was proposed by Ketounei Kire, general secretary D Khel Council.
