DIMAPUR, JANUARY 6 (MExN): The Nagaland People’s Action Committee (NPAC) has expressed shock and disappointment at the manner in which the “state machineries try to sabotage the democratic exertion of the peace loving citizens of Nagaland voicing its sentiment during the visit of the Home Minister of India.”

A press release informed that civil organisations held a meeting at Hotel Saramati on January 5 to represent the voice of the people that “26 years of political negotiation is enough to hammer out a political solution if GOI is serious and have political will to deliver the long awaited solution.”

It informed that the “state agency attempted to remove the banners demanding for political solution before election and sabotage democratic expression of the public.” The NPAC termed this as a “surprise attempt and shocking when the entire Naga society including the State Government have been vociferous in demanding early political solution.”

“Facilitating solution on one hand and suppressing the people’s exertion on early solution on the other hand is not taken well,” it said.

This “double talk,” and action, the NPAC stated “is the reason why the concluded talk cannot deliver the required solution.” It therefore questioned the role of facilitators in regards to the Naga political issue.
