Sukimi Students’ Union attains 50 years 

Sukimi, January 4 (MExN): Advisor IPR & VG, Government of Nagaland, S Keoshu Yimkhiung graced the occasion of Sukimi Students’ Union golden jubilee (1972-2022) on December 28, 2022.

A DIPR report stated that Keoshu Yimkhiung in his address reminded the gathering to be sincere and dedicated to their studies and to put extra effort into their academic career so that they can achieve their goals.

“Unlike in past years, backdoor appointments should be discouraged and cannot be done as the State Government had introduced NSSB for recruitment of government jobs, where only the best and most deserving candidates will get the privilege,” he stated. Hence, without depending on anyone, one should give his/her best to excel, he added.

He also shared the economic importance, since Sekiur B is located at a prime location where the cultivation of various fruits and vegetables is very favorable with suitable climatic conditions.

He highlighted that Sumis and Yimkhiung have had a long history of brotherhood. Let us all continue to uphold the legacy of our unity through brotherhood even in generations to come, he added.

Earlier, the advisor congratulated the jubilee committee, the student community, and all the citizens of Sekiur B (Sukimi) for achieving this significant milestone. He acknowledged the founders and former union officials for rendering their selfless sacrifices, contributing much to the welfare of the student community, and bringing the union thus far. He appreciated the State Government for allocating 2% job reservation for the Sumi of Sekiur B, which was the long cherished demand of the community.

The Advisor also assured that he will give his best cooperation to the Sumis of Sekiur B and encouraged them to share grievances faced for which he is ever ready to help out in any possible way out.
