NPP assures progressive goals & aspirations for people of Nagaland

Tuensang/Noklak, August 25 (MExN): NPP Nagaland State President, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema has assured of the party’s progressive goals and aspirations for the people of Nagaland under the leadership of the National President, Conrad K Sangma and his able team. 

Addressing the consultative meeting with the NPP Tuensang district, a press release stated that Dr Ahoto also expressed robust confidence that the party will surely bring the entire North East under one political umbrella in order to fulfill the party’s motto of ‘One Voice One North East’

The meeting was held during the 9th leg of the ongoing district tour undertaken by the NPP Nagaland State Parent Body to Tuensang district at Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) Hall, Tuensang on August 23. It was also attended by officials of the state and district frontal bodies including women wing and NPYF. 

Speaking on behalf of the State team, Lima Longchar, State Advisor and Philip Lam exhorted the gathering and encouraged them to continue with the enrolment drive on a war footing. They also echoed the common problems and needs shared by the people of Eastern Nagaland including Tuensang.

Reiterating the clarion call made by Conrad K Sangma, National President of NPP that ‘youth are the future of the nation’, Aghali Achumi, Secretary, State NPYF challenged the youths not to look for shortcut methods of making money during elections but to be focused on the future and reform the society for the upcoming generation.

Advisor to NPP Tuensang district, B Binyemjong apprised about the new district team of the parent body, youth and women along with all the rank and file of the members from 51 Noksen A/C. 

During the discussion hour, several agendas including the party’s candidature for the upcoming assembly election from Tuensang district, party membership drive, strategies to be followed for the next assembly polls, etc. were discussed. 
Earlier, NPP Tuensang district, President Khumpise Lise Sangtam welcomed the team and the meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Yangthery, General Secretary (Org), NPP Tuensang district.

Noklak: During the 10th leg of the district tour, a consultative meeting of the NPP Noklak district unit with the state parent body was held at Tourist Lodge, Noklak Town on August 24. It was also attended by officials of the State as well as the Noklak district frontal bodies including women and youth wings along with prospective candidates for the upcoming Assembly Election of 2023 from various constituencies of Noklak district.

Around 180 people from various constituencies attended the meeting, stated a press release. The meeting was conducted in Noklak town as it is the headquarter and is also in close proximity with most of the villages under the different constituencies including Thonoknyu constituency which is several kilometers away from Noklak Town, it stated. 

During the meeting, the party was encouraged by the unprecedented support of the people from 57 Thonoknyu A/C for the intending NPP candidate for the next Assembly Election, P Pongom, it stated. He is former president of ENPO, former President of Khiamniungan Tribal Community and also a three times MLA and former Minister of Nagaland.

NPP Nagaland State President, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema addressed the house. He highlighted that many prominent leaders are eager to join the party and “in fact in some of the constituencies, 2 or 3 candidates are already in the queue for getting the party ticket but the party was keeping a very low profile as of now and will publicly announce the official candidates and the party’s plans for the upcoming polls at the right and opportune moment.” 

The other speakers included Dr Aimong Khiam, District President, NPP Noklak, P Pongom, intending candidate from 57 Thonoknyu AC, Khehoto Awomi State Vice President, Lima Longchar State (Advisor), Ranjit Singhvi, State Advisor, Minority Cell, Jacob Krocha, State General Secretary (Admin) and Imna Meren State, Secretary (IPR).

The meeting was chaired by M Yaphai, DEC Member, invocation was said by NL Pushia,  Deacon, LBCNT,  vote of thanks by P Yamong, President, NPP 57 Thonoknyu AC.
