Mokokchung, April 15 (MExN): A dedicatory prayer service was held at Wazako Lu, the site for the proposed construction of Mokokchung district mini secretariat on April 14.
Speaking at the service, Minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum, on behalf of the State government and the department, thanked the landowners from Mokokchung village for allotting the site for the project. A press release issued by the press secretary to the Minister said that Ozukum praised the farsightedness of the Mokokchung village elders from Aolepden Semchir(descendent) of Longkumer clan for parting with their ancestral land in order to pave way for developmental activities and progress, not only for their village but for the Nagas in general.
The Minister also opined that the district mini secretariat will arguably be the biggest project undertaken in the district till date. He hope that with the installation of the mini secretariat at Wazako Lu area, which is nearly five kilometers from the heart of Mokokchung town, will pave way for the growth and progress of Mokokchung town as the area is viable for expansion in the near future with good and amble environment.
Later, the dedication of the site was pronounced by Wati Pongen, Pastor, Mokokchung Village Baptist Church in the presence of Shashank Pratap Singh IAS, department officials, Mokokchung village elders and other officials.
Mentioned may be made that the foundation stone for the district mini secretariat will be laid by. Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland on April 29.
